Venice update! What's happening?

Dear friends,

We’re excited to share a number of things with you:

“Good Evening”
A live acoustic concert CD, recorded in Eindhoven in December of 2007….to include 2 or 3 bonus tracks of new songs. This album will be available in stores in Holland and at our upcoming live shows. The CD will soon be available at Venice Store.

“Alive and Acoustic”
An intimate live Acoustic concert DVD, recorded in Holland in July of 2007. This release shows the lighter side of Venice…the banter between songs, the fun we have on stage, etc. This DVD will only be available at the live shows or from Frits at http://www.aanspreekpunt.nl Soon to be available at Venice Store.

“Home Grown”
A new “best of” Venice CD packaged with the “Live at the Royal Carre” DVD.
This 2-disc set was made for release in the new territories of Scandinavia, Germany and the UK.. This release will eventually be available everywhere, including the states, but for now it’s limited to the new territories.

Showcase tour
Prior to our Dutch tour in November, we will be playing some showcases to support our “Home Grown release. Venice will do “Acoustic” shows in Denmark and Germany and then full band “Electric” shows with Jamie Wollam on drums in the UK. Check Venice Central’s tour dates http://www.venicecentral.com/tourdates.html for more info, as it becomes available. We welcome any fans that would like to visit us in these neighboring territories….Road trip!!!!

Venice Dutch Theater tour
We are very excited to be doing our first “Acoustic” theater tour in Holland.
We also have some great news to announce, Rich Mangicaro, percussionist for Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh, will be joining us on percussion. Rich is a dear friend and a great guy. Some of you might remember him from an earlier tour in Holland. Also, Charlie Vaughn and the Daily Routine will be special guests on 5 of these shows, Nov. 16,18,20,21,22. (See more info below). Looking forward to this tour.

“A Bucket of Joy”
A new “Folk‘n’Roll” CD by Charlie Vaughn and the Daily Routine, that I just finished producing, engineering, singing background vocals and playing drums on with Kipp Lennon’s son Charlie Vaughn. Charlie and Kipp found each other after 25 years and Charlie just happened to be a singer/songwriter....guess it’s in the genes. Venice’s Mark Harris plays bass on the record and Kipp sings backgrounds on one song. My daughter Avalon Lennon makes her recording debut, singing backing vocals on 3 songs and finally, Kipp’s and my kids, Rowdy, Dutch and Roman Lennon make a guest vocal appearance. “a Bucket of Joy” is available on iTunes and at CD Baby.

Lennon Records
A new label I’ve started and hope to build with more artists. Charlie Vaughn and the Daily Routine’s “a Bucket of Joy” is currently on the label and I’m currently working with my older brother Tom Lennon on his debut record. Tom is the reason I became a musician. In the ‘60’s, his band used to practice in our garage…their big break was opening for the Doors. Tom was drafted to Vietnam and the band broke up and this is his first attempt to make a record since then.…a mix of Folk, Country, Americana. Great voice. Great songs. His music makes you just want to kick back on your front porch rocking chair, sip a cocktail, and watch the sun set beautifully off in the distant acoustic sky.

Future plans:
- a new Venice studio album in 2009
- Venice Christmas shows:
LA area TBC 12/13/08
Soho, 12/14/08
Belly Up Tavern, 12/18/08

Looking forward to seeing you soon. Thank you for your patience and continued support.
Sincerely,
Michael Lennon – Venice
